Acrylic and oil pastel on chunky canvas
Absolute freedom and joy in this piece. I deliberately left a very neutral background on this piece to make it seem like a 5 year old had been given a page by her teacher and she has let loose on it. Instead of reaching for a brush, she dipped her finger into the red paint, her favourite. Then she drew out big happy circles because she loved circles. They had a nice start and finish to them. The are happy shapes because there are no sharp, pointy bits to them. The green, dew clad grass is a perfect contrast to the red. Some of the little girl's pencil etchings are apparent on the LHS. All part of the self expression process. It's ok to scribble!
